Paul Delvaux (1897-1994) developed a magisterial body of work inspired by the world of trains. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his death, Train World invites you to dive into his poetic and mysterious universe. About fifty works are exhibited. Superbly integrated into the breathtaking scenography of Train World, the surrealist master’s paintings echo the unique atmosphere of the museum. The exhibition's itinerary presents the evolution of the painter’s work: it begins with the first drawings of the 1920s, continues with the watercolours of the 1930s and culminates in the discovery of with the monumental works of the 1950s to the 1970s. A display of some of the artist's personal possessions reveals his passion for the railway universe. #StaycationBXL

This exhibition shows a selection of posters designed by SNCB communication services to promote night trains. It was not until 1865 that the first sleeper night trains appeared on the rails, not in Europe, but in the United States. These trains are better known as Pullman trains. It was the Belgian Georges Nagelmackers who later introduced this type of sleeping car in Europe, further improving their comfort ... If you want to learn more about night trains and immerse yourself in these posters that invite you to travel, make sure you come to Train World between July 4 and September 27. Access to this exhibition is included in the price of an entrance ticket to Train World. #StaycationBXL
